March 18-25, 2017 – For All Ages and Abilities – Multi-generational trip with emphasis on youth
We are planning to bless and be blessed by the citizens of Wilmore, KY in March, the week of School District of Maple’s spring break.  The projects have not all been defined but we know that we will be helping update residences in western Appalachia.  We have asked for evangelism opportunities and rehab of homes as projects and there may be opportunities for remodeling on AdventureServe’s campus.  As always, the key word on mission trips is “Flexibility.”  It will be nice to be in warmer climes after our long winter.

Our host group is AdventureServe, a Christian organization which specializes in hosting mission trip groups who usually work on housing repair.  Mission Covenant held a mission trip there six years ago.  At that time the organization was known as Confrontation Point.  We reconstructed what is called “The Children’s Chapel” on campus, an historically important structure to the town.

One day of the trip is devoted to “Adventure” after “Serving.”  This may be caving, a ropes course, canoeing/kayaking, or other.  Another opportunity may be the Kentucky Horse Park, a nearby state run facility.

The cost of the trip is $375 per participant.  This includes the AdventureServe fee which includes programming, food and housing in their dormitories and transportation.  For children in grades 4-6 the cost is $200.  For children grade 3 and below the cost is $50.  Families who provide their own transportation will receive a discount.  Each participant is responsible for her/his food on the road.  Mission Covenant Mission Board has provided for building materials costs.  We expect to travel by church vans making the trip in one long day.  There is a sign-up sheet at the Welcome Center. Please complete all the requested information.
