Nursery Guidelines for Parents and Volunteers

When you arrive

When you arrive, our Mission Kidz! staff will assist you with check-in. You will provide your name, your child’s name and any special instructions for the child. Please verbally let the volunteers know of special instructions as well.

Clean Diaper

When bringing your child to the nursery, they should have a clean, newly changed diaper. Feel free to come in the nursery and use the changing station.

If You Are Paged

If you are paged, please come to the nursery, this means that the volunteers feel that your help with your child is warranted.

You will be paged:

If a child is crying inconsolably for an extended period of time.
If the child is injured and the volunteer feels it is something the parent should be involved with, urgently.
Parents will be paged to do diaper changes.
If a child becomes ill (vomiting, diarrhea, fever etc.)

Pager

We currently use a pager system which involves the parent who drops off their child receiving a pager so they can be reached quickly if needed. Also, this helps volunteers know who to turn the child over to at the end of the church service.

The holder of the pager gets the child! You will be given a pager that correlates with the number the child was signed in under. Wear the pager on your waist. It is silent and the vibrations from the pager are best felt if it is close to you as opposed to in a jacket pocket or hooked on a purse.

Communicable disease

If your child comes down with a communicable disease, please notify our church office so we can take the proper precautions to protect the health of the other children and expectant mothers.

Please do not bring your child to the nursery:
* If they have had diarrhea in the last 8 hours.
* If they have been vomiting in the last 12 hours.
* If they are running a fever
* If they have an excessive amount of nasal drainage (you know what I mean parents, the thick green runny nose that just won’t stop!)
